Responsibilities

Aid in analyzing and planning hospital operations.

such as strategic planning, business development, quality
improvement, compliance, financial analysis, and organizational
development.
Qualifications
Typically, a master’s degree in healthcare administration
or business administration—along with 1-2 years of work
experience in a healthcare organization—is required.
Experience requirements are usually waived for administrative
fellows and residents who are just embarking on a healthcare
management career. These individuals may have completed the
didactic portion of their healthcare management graduate program
and are seeking experience in a healthcare setting, or they
may have already received their master’s degree and
are exploring various opportunities to gain practical management
and leadership experience in a healthcare environment.

Salary
Range
Salaries for entry-level management positions in acute care
typically range from $40,000 to $60,000.

An entry-level manager can expect to work approximately 51-55
hours per week.
