RICHARD
A. HENAULT, FACHE, ELECTED CHAIRMAN-ELECT OF AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HEALTHCARE
EXECUTIVES
CHICAGO,
March 15, 2003Richard A. Henault, FACHE, executive vice president,
Methodist Health System Foundation, Inc., New Orleans, has been elected
Chairman-Elect of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international
professional society of nearly 30,000 healthcare executives.
Henault
took office today at the Council of Regents meeting during ACHE's 46th
Congress on Healthcare Management at the Hilton Chicago. As Chairman-Elect,
he will serve the first part of a three-year term in ACHE's consecutive
chairmanship offices: Chairman-Elect, Chairman, and Immediate Past-Chairman.
Board
certified in healthcare management and an ACHE Fellow, Henault served
as an ACHE Governor from 1999 to 2003. Prior to that, he was the ACHE
Regent for Louisiana from 1996 to 1999.
Henault
joined the Methodist Health System in 1984 as executive vice president,
a position in which he continues today. He is responsible for systemwide
strategic direction as well as operational and financial performance as
they relate to system integration, subsidiary operations, and managed
care initiatives. Henault concurrently serves as president and chief executive
officer of several of the system's subsidiary corporations. His prior
professional experience includes positions as chief operating officer
of the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics and senior associate
director of the Ochsner Foundational Hospital, New Orleans. He has also
held teaching positions with the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and
Tulane University, New Orleans.
Henault
chairs several community service organizations and public commissions,
including the New Orleans Regional Chamber of Commerce, Urban League of
Greater New Orleans, and the New Orleans Work Force Investment Board.
He is the founding president of the New Health Care Managers Association
of New Orleans and the Tulane Alumni in Health Systems Management.
Henault
received his master's degree in healthcare administration from Tulane
University, New Orleans, and his bachelor's degree in biology from the
University of Rhode Island, Kingston. He is married to Julie Henault and
they have two children, Zachary, 14, and Simone, 12.
