About the author: Andrew N. Garman, PsyD, is associate chair in the Department of Health Systems Management at Rush University in Chicago. In his practitioner role, Dr. Garman provides a variety of leadership assessment and development services to Rush University and other organizations, including competency model development, developmental assessments, performance improvement surveys, and workshops. An active contributor to evidence-based practice, Dr. Garman has been published in more than 25 peer-reviewed journals and books.
