Shari J. Welch, MD, FACHE, FACEP

Shari Welch has been a practicing emergency physician for 20 years and a quality improvement consultant for 10 years. She is currently a research fellow at the Intermountain Institute for Health Care Delivery Research in Salt Lake City. Dr. Welch has achieved evidence-based design accreditation and certification and serves on the clinical faculty at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She has written three books on emergency department operations, including Risk Management and the Emergency Department: Executive Leadership for Protecting Patients and Hospitals.
