Understanding and Influencing Physician Behavior: The Strategic Imperative
Fellows Seminar—Designed exclusively for ACHE Fellows
Inn & Spa at Loretto
Santa Fe, New Mexico
May 1-2, 2008
Engage physicians in support of organizational goals
Changes in the healthcare field continue to erode physician-hospital relationships. Often executives find that their attempts to engage physicians in partnerships result in frustration and disillusionment. ACHE’s Fellows Seminar will give you the tools you need to focus on strategies for building relationships in addition to achieving financial goals and help you reconcile the business objectives of healthcare with the transcendent values at the heart of medicine.
During the Fellows Seminar you will learn:
- How to overcome physician culture barriers that can prohibit successful adaptation of organizational goals.
- How to develop and implement successful strategies for leading and managing change and building trust during times of change.
- How operating assumptions and beliefs prevent clear communication and can lead to perceptions of mistrust between physicians and healthcare executives.
- How to effectively communicate with physicians and "make them an offer they can't refuse."
- To move beyond the limiting beliefs that may impair your ability to effectively partner with members of your medical staff.
- To appreciate the complexities involved in identifying and training physician leaders and to identify ways in which to successfully invest in physician leadership development.
Don’t miss this opportunity to interact with other ACHE Fellows and develop strategies to ensure successful medical staff relationships, leadership and structure.
