Learn new approaches for developing an effective strategic plan

Developing a strategic plan is imperative for every organization to enhance its competitive position and prepare for future challenges. This seminar stresses how to organize and implement a successful strategic planning process, ensure effective participation and transition your plan into action. Whether you are new to strategic planning or you want to revitalize the process within your organization, this seminar will provide you with the critical information you need to create a plan that will define and strengthen your future viability.

Attendees will learn the necessary tools to assess competitiveness and the critical issues your organization will face. Through case studies, real life examples and group work you will gain the strategies needed to ensure that plans lead to actions, impacting your organization’s future.

Seminar Faculty  Alan M. Zuckerman, FACHE, FAAHC

Alan Zuckerman is president of Health Strategies & Solutions Inc., Philadelphia. He has been a consultant for more than 30 years with expertise in developing consensus among board members, medical staff and management; evaluating competitive strategies and positioning; and guiding the transition from planning to implementation. Zuckerman is a frequent speaker on a variety of healthcare topics and the author of six books, including Healthcare Strategic Planning, second edition. He received ACHE’s 1999 James A. Hamilton Award for book of the year and the forthcoming State of the Art in Healthcare Strategic Planning.

  • United Airlines/Ted: ACHE has arranged reduced airfares with United Airlines and Ted. Call the Special Meeting Desk at (800) 521-4041 and refer to ACHE meeting ID 598YJ to receive a 2 to 10 percent discount off applicable fares. All ticketing and booking fees will be waived. If you purchase your ticket at least 30 days prior to travel, you will receive an additional 5 percent discount.
  • ACHE reserves the right to substitute faculty and cancel or reschedule programs due to unforeseen events. For this reason, we advise against purchasing nonrefundable airline tickets. .

Cancellation

ATo cancel or transfer to another seminar, please notify us in writing no later than Thursday, April 23, 2009, for full credit or refund, less a $100 nonrefundable processing fee per seminar. After April 23, all fees are forfeited; however, you may send a substitute if you cannot attend.

Credit Hour Qualifications

  • To qualify for the 12 Category I (ACHE education) credits assigned to this seminar, you must attend the entire seminar.
  • Your tuition includes all seminar materials and refreshments. If you have dietary restrictions and require a special meal, please call the Customer Service Center at (312) 424-9400 prior to attending your seminar.
  • Dress for all seminar programs is business casual. Room temperatures may vary; we suggest you bring a sweater or jacket.
  • ACHE programs are educational in nature. Self-promotion and selling are not permitted.
  • If you have special needs that we can assist you with, please contact the Division of Education prior to the program.
