Protocols for Executive Behavior: Think Before You Act
The healthcare arena is undergoing massive change—the possibility of career derailment
is always looming on the horizon. Effective leaders in the healthcare field will be
those who are attentive to all of the requisites for success and will be particularly
attentive to the appropriateness of their behavior, conduct, and demeanor.
In continuing education, heavy focus is placed on the development of technical,
administrative, and human resources skills. However, executive success is often bred
through the possession of what might be called "a sense of the appropriate." Described
this seminar as “protocols,” it represents the unwritten societal and organizational
expectations of executive behavior.
This seminar is available only as an ACHE On-Location Program.

Seminar
Content
This seminar will introduce and explain the four-factor model of executive success. Emphasis
is placed on learning exactly what traits make leaders a success.
Participants work in small groups on assigned case studies that introduce the wide variety of
areas in which the appropriateness of an executive’s behavior determines his or her
managerial success or failure. The program allows participants to focus heavily on their
personal leadership development; at the end of the seminar, they will be able to put all the
protocols and skills together to develop a personal action plan.
