FACHE®: The Pinnacle of Achievement

Important Credentialing Changes

The CHE & FACHE area of ache.org is in the process of being updated to reflect changes to the credentialing system approved at the November 6 Board of Governors meeting. While aspects of becoming board certified in healthcare management and earning the FACHE credential are changing, passing the Board of Governors Examination remains a key requirement. For information and examination resources, you can still refer to the Board of Governors Examination Information pages. Meanwhile, for more up to date information about the new credentialing system, refer to the checklist (PDF) highlighting the new FACHE requirements, as well as a special article (PDF) in the January/February 2007 Healthcare Executive.

When you attain the Fellow credential, you experience the continuing recognition of and gain respect from your colleagues and position yourself for new professional opportunities. And most importantly, you accomplish a goal that is important to you, your organization, and the field. Build your career legacy and commit to achieving Fellow status today.

The pinnacle is within your reach. Grasp it!

Raymond Grady, FACHE

“The FACHE credential is a testimony to your achievement of the highest standards of professional development. It demonstrates your commitment to your career, your organization and to the patients and families that you are privileged to serve. Earn your FACHE credential as soon as possible—it will open up the door to an expanded network of opportunities and professional friendships.”

Raymond Grady, FACHE
President and CEO, Evanston Hospital
President, Hospitals and Clinics Div, Evanston Northwestern Healthcare
Evanston, Ill.

You can earn the elite FACHE credential by completing a Fellow Application (PDF). As a healthcare executive, it's likely that the work you do every day will apply to your Fellow project. You can opt to complete four case studies, a one-year mentorship, or a thesis. Choose a Fellow project that matters to your colleagues, to the field, and to you!

As you work to attain Fellow status, your efforts will make a difference to the field of healthcare management. By sharing your knowledge and experiences with colleagues, students, consultants, trustees, university program faculty, and others, you demonstrate your commitment to the healthcare field.
