Encourage Colleagues to earn Fellow status (FACHE)

  • First, please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the process of earning the FACHE credential and the project options so that you can pass along the most up-to-date information to your colleague. The Credentialing area of ache.org is the best place to brush up on the information.

  • Send an application to the potential new member’s work or home. You can download an application or contact the Membership Division at (312) 424-9400 or at membership1@ache.org to request that an application be sent directly to the individual. Don’t forget to write your name on the cover! If you prefer, you may request that a brochure on earning Fellow status is also sent to them. This brochure is a short, colorful piece that highlights the project options and the reasons why some affiliates earned the FACHE credential.
  • Send a link to the Credentialing area of ache.org for details on earning Fellow status. Mention that this area includes information on the process of attaining the credential, details on the project options and other useful information.

  • Use the Pathway to Fellow guide. ACHE has created sample e-mail messages that you can send to your colleagues who are currently Member status and are eligible to attain their FACHE credential. In addition, we have created a suggested timeline and checklist to help you keep track of your contacts. This guideline is especially useful for ACHE chapter and elected leaders to encourage advancement in their areas.

  • If you have earned your FACHE credential, share your experiences on why you decided to earn the pinnacle of achievement. This personal encouragement may be all the incentive a colleague needs to pursue this status.

  • The January 2005 issue of ACHE’s e-mail Early Careerist Newsletter gives helpful hints for garnering organizational support when pursuing the FACHE status. Read through this article yourself or send the link to your colleague. You will need your ACHE ID number to access this area.

  • Don’t forget to follow up! Like all of us, your colleague may get busy and simply forget to start the process to earn his or her FACHE credential. Set a reminder on your calendar to follow up on this prestigious goal.
