Partner With a Mentor

Priceless. That’s the value of mentoring relationships with one of our dedicated mentor volunteers. In fact, mentoring is one of ACHE’s highest priorities. We believe that no matter where you are in your career, mentoring others—and being mentored—should be part of your professional growth. 

The newly developed digital Leadership Mentoring Network will provide enhanced matching and support for successful mentor partnerships. Each formal mentor-mentee partnership will last six months, although we encourage the partnerships to extend beyond the formal timeline. Mentors and mentees are matched based on a multitude of criteria including career level, business function, leadership skills and competencies, and career development goals.

    The Leadership Mentoring Network provides the classic one-on-one mentoring experience while primarily meeting virtually over the phone, video chat, email or through a virtual meeting platform. Many healthcare leaders become mentors to:

    • Give back to the field.
    • Further an emerging leader’s career development.
    • Gain exposure to a fresh perspective.
    • Learn about yourself

    Mentors should have a minimum of 5 years of experience at the director level or higher.

  • Request a Mentor 

    No matter your career stage, anyone can become a mentee. As a mentee, you have the ability to drive the effectiveness of your partnership by defining clear goals and expectations and regularly meeting with your mentor over the course of your six-month formal mentoring relationship. Many healthcare leaders seeks mentors to:

    • Build professional self-confidence.
    • Sharpen critical thinking skills.
    • Increase professional visibility and executive presence.
    • Clarify long-term career goals.

    The ACHE Leadership Mentoring Program runs twice a year as cohort groups beginning in April and October. Each program is limited to 150 mentee/mentor relationships and lasts for 6 months. Applications must be submitted by March 31 for the April cohort and by September 30 for the October cohort. Mentees will be matched with a mentor on a first-come, first serve-basis. Any applications submitted after the dates given above will remain in queue to be matched for the next 6-month cohort group.
