As such she was administratively responsible for the activities of the institutional review board and the hospital's ethics committee for which she developed the ethics protocols in the early 1980s. In 1988, the inaugural issue of The Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation was dedicated to her in recognition of her efforts in building a foundation of academic excellence within Hurley Medical Center.
