Bruce J. Fried, PhD, is associate professor and director of the residential master’s degree program in the Department of Health Policy and Administration in the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He teaches in the areas of human resources management, international and comparative health systems, and globalization and health. Dr. Fried is also coeditor of and contributor to World Health Systems: Challenges and Perspectives.
Laura M. Gaydos is pursuing her PhD in Health Policy and Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to her doctoral studies, Laura conducted healthcare research and planning activities for the Health Care Advisory Board, Washington, DC, in the areas of women's health and maternal/child health.
