GEORGIA
ASSOCIATION OF
HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVES
WINS ACHE'S AFFILIATED GROUP AWARD
CHICAGO,
February 18, 2002Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives,
Atlanta, will receive the American College of Healthcare Executives 2002
Affiliated Group Award.
The
group will receive the award and a $1,000 cash prize on March 20, 2002,
at the Wednesday Keynote Address during ACHE's 45th Congress on Healthcare
Management at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago.
ACHE established the award in 1993 to recognize outstanding contributions
to ACHE and the healthcare field by ACHE's officially designated healthcare
executive groups and women's healthcare executive networks. Affiliated
groups are evaluated on their innovative approaches to serving members,
the quality of programs offered to members, and their promotion of ACHE
membership and advancement.
Founded
in 1982, Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives is one of the most
active groups of its kind, serving a diverse membership of healthcare
executives, consultants, and faculty and students of healthcare administration
programs. The group offers a wide variety of educational programs, including
case studies that focus on organizational change. These highly-attended
programs are presented by senior executives from local healthcare organizations.
GAHE
has promoted ACHE membership through a Diplomate Tutorial Program, which
provides eight hours of instruction on the knowledge areas covered in
ACHE's Board of Governors exam, and a Fellow Tutorial Program, which includes
a "buddy system" in which current ACHE Fellows offer advice and assistance
to individuals interested in advancing. In addition, GAHE has collaborated
extensively with local and national healthcare groups and student chapters.
Georgia
Association of Healthcare Executives was selected by ACHE's Awards and
Testimonials Committee from affiliated groups nominated by ACHE's Regents-at-Large.
The other nominated groups include: Connecticut Women in Health Care Management,
Inc., Enfield; Maryland Association of Health Care Executives, Baltimore;
Chicago Health Executives Forum; Pikes Peak Healthcare Executives Forum,
Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Society of Professionals in Healthcare, Walnut
Creek, Calif.
