Ethical Wisdom: Doing the Right Thing Every Day, Everywhere in the Organization

This program is funded in part by ACHE’s Fund for Innovation in Healthcare Leadership

Wednesday, October 6, 2010
8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
In conjunction with the San Francisco Cluster

The realities of healthcare reform and the challenge to use limited resources most efficiently will stress the ethical resolve of even the strongest of healthcare providers with some of the toughest questions any healthcare leader may have ever faced.

This proactive, half-day seminar exposes healthcare executives to the challenges and some very practical solutions to the ethical dilemmas they encounter.

Explore your role in:

  • Examining the implications of ethical behavior on mission and margin

  • Setting the pathways by which ethical pathways turn intentions into sustainable performance

  • Guarding against ethical erosion

  • Diagnosing the ethical health of your organization

Jack A. Gilbert, EdD, FACHE, is director of the Master of Healthcare Innovation program at Arizona State University. Dr. Gilbert will lead this seminar by sharing the outcomes of his research and practice working with healthcare organizations on some of their most pressing ethical issues. His key determination is for healthcare leaders and their staff to always do the “right thing” throughout their organization.

A selected group of healthcare leaders will share their experiences with ethical challenges while serving as discussion leaders on topics such as how organizational ethics are created and eroded, the link between ethical decision making and organizational performance and institutionalizing ethical wisdom.

For those already participating in the San Francisco Cluster, continue your professional growth with this important session. Or, just participate in this morning workshop and leave with a renewed sense of commitment.
