Women in Healthcare Leadership: A Journey of Inclusion
Gain advantages by supporting women in your organization
Tuesday, November 12, 2013
1:30 p.m. Eastern
In the U.S. healthcare field, women typically represent 75–85 percent of the workforce, but only 18 percent of the most senior leadership positions, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Implementing a women’s affinity group not only enhances opportunities for females in the field, but also adds value and contributes to the strategic direction of the organizations in which they are established. An investment in women has been shown to improve operating margins, retention, brand reputation, productivity, growth and many other key factors.
The presenter will demonstrate how they implemented the Women’s Leadership Alliance at Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta. They’ll also relate how the affinity group contributed value through mentoring and leadership development, community service, the teaching of communication skills, and motivational and networking opportunities for its members.
