The Online Tutorial is a convenient way to prepare for the Board of Governors Exam. The tutorial uses an online self-study format to help refine your knowledge and improve your study skills. This program provides a detailed look at the different topics covered on the exam and resources to focus your preparation.

One of the requirements for becoming a Fellow is passing the Board of Governors Examination in Healthcare Management. Prior to taking the Examination you must submit your Fellow Application. Once your application is approved, you will receive authorization to take the Board of Governors Exam.

How Does the Online Tutorial Work?

The Online Tutorial is a 12-week self-study course that combines traditional materials with online resources. This format allows you to complete each week’s assignments when and where it is convenient for you. You will receive a CD with reading materials that address the knowledge areas covered on the Exam. You will have access to PowerPoint slides, audio lectures and a group online community through ACHE’s Web site, ache.org.

During the tutorial, you will read the materials provided on the CD, review the PowerPoint slides and listen to audio lectures. In addition, you will access a class online community to discuss exam topics with other tutorial participants.

Upon completion of the 12-week course, you will earn 6 ACHE Qualified Education credits toward your advancement in ACHE. To earn the credits assigned to this course, you must complete the program in its entirety.
 

What Does the Online Tutorial Include?

The Online Tutorial provides resources to help you prepare for the Exam. The course includes:

• A CD of extensive reading materials, including The Well-Managed Healthcare Organization, Seventh Edition, by John R. Griffith, FACHE, and Kenneth R. White, PhD, FACHE

• PowerPoint slides and audio lectures that you can access online day or night in addition to a CD containing the same information.

• Opportunities to interact with other tutorial participants via a group online community.

Please note: The registration deadline is two weeks after the beginning of the course. Course materials and an assigned password will be mailed to participants two weeks before the beginning of the course.

Tuition

Tuition for the Online Tutorial is $495. The Well-Managed Healthcare Organization, Seventh Edition, by John R. Griffith, FACHE, and Kenneth R. White, PhD, FACHE, is required reading for this course. If you already own the book, tuition for this course is $410.

A limited number of tuition waivers are available for this program. Application period opens 16 weeks prior to the event.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel your participation in the online tutorial, please notify the Customer Service Center at least 14 business days before the start of the program for a full refund or credit, less a $50 cancellation fee. After that time, a refund or credit is forfeited. If you applied a coupon towards your registration fee and cancel after the cancellation deadline, you will forfeit the coupon amount.

ACHE must receive notification of your cancellation prior to shipment of the course book and materials. Once the book has shipped, no refund or credit for the book will be granted. Substitute attendees are permitted. Notifications of the substituted attendee must be made in writing and can be emailed, faxed or mailed to the Customer Service Center (numbers listed below) and must include the name of the original registrant and the new registrant's name, address and phone number.
