Wright L. Lassiter III is president/CEO of Henry Ford Health System. He joined Henry Ford in December 2014 and assumed his current role in 2016. Since his arrival, Mr. Lassiter has led the board and senior management through a comprehensive strategic planning effort to position Henry Ford for the future. A seasoned healthcare executive, Mr. Lassiter has nearly 30 years of experience working in large, complex health systems, including Dallas Methodist Health System and JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to joining Henry Ford, he was CEO of Alameda Health System in Oakland, Calif. Mr. Lassiter has been named to Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” and “Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare” lists; Crain’s Detroit Business’ “Newsmakers of the Year” list; and HealthLeaders Media’s “20 People Who Make Healthcare Better” list. An avid community leader, Mr. Lassiter currently serves on the boards of the American Hospital Association, America’s Essential Hospitals (chair elect), Arsenal Capital Partners, City Year Detroit, Detroit Regional Chamber, Detroit Children’s Fund, Downtown Detroit Partnership, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Le Moyne College, Invest Detroit and Motown Museum. Mr. Lassiter has been recognized with several accolades, including the Industry Award (2019) from Results Mentoring, Corporate Leadership Award (2018) from National Medical Fellowships, and The Legacy Award (2014) from the Jobs and Housing Coalition. He received his master’s degree in healthcare administration from Indiana University, where he graduated No. 1 in his class, and he completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry, with honors, from Le Moyne College.
