Richard D’Aquila, FACHE, is the president of Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale New Haven Health System in Connecticut. He is responsible for day-to-day operations of Yale New Haven Hospital, with an operating budget of $3.5 billion, and over 15,000 employees and 4,500 medical staff members. In October 2016, he assumed responsibility for systemwide ambulatory and service line strategies, as well as medical staff and nursing integration across the health system.

From 2000 to 2006, Rick served as senior vice president and COO of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He also served in executive positions at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Conn., The Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Conn., and Health Initiatives Corporation in Providence, R.I.

Rick received his graduate degree in hospital administration from the Yale University School of Medicine and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Central Connecticut State University. He is a member of the lecturing faculty at Yale University School of Medicine’s Department of Epidemiology and Public Health.
