Associate Chief of Patient Experience, Cleveland Clinic



Julie Rish, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and director of design and best practice in the Office of Patient Experience at the Cleveland Clinic. She is the director of communication skills training and an assistant professor of medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Rish’s work focuses on applying human-centered design to improve patient experience and co-designing partnering with patients to transform healthcare. She is passionate about improving experience for patients and caregivers and speaks nationally on the topic. She was the recipient of the 2016 Press Ganey Success Story award, finalist for the 2018 Sherman Award and serves on the EngagingPatients.org Advisory Board.
