Vaccine Hesitancy Among Healthcare Providers: Challenges and Opportunities
Hospitals and health systems across the country have been at the forefront of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution and education efforts. Providers play a critical role in effectively communicating the benefits and importance of getting vaccinated and facilitating opportunities for their patients and communities to do so. At the same time, a significant portion of vaccine-eligible adults are not yet vaccinated, including a potentially larger than anticipated number of healthcare providers and staff.
To address hesitancy and increase the uptake of COVID-19 vaccines by those working in hospitals and health systems, healthcare leaders have taken a variety of approaches, from communication campaigns to incentives and, most recently, vaccine mandates. Despite these efforts, some providers continue to resist vaccination for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to, mistrust of the healthcare system, issues with access and equity, and skepticism surrounding vaccine safety.
Join this timely webinar to hear from healthcare executives and national experts as they discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with vaccine hesitancy among healthcare providers and staff, as well as the public health, ethical, and leadership implications of various strategies to increase the vaccination rate within these groups.
