Mike Wukitsch is the chief human resources officer at Lee Health in Ft. Myers, Fla., leading the human resources function since 2018. With more than 17,000 team members, Lee Health is the largest healthcare system in southwest Florida. Mike is responsible for total rewards and HR systems, leadership and organizational development, recruiting and workforce development, and client group support through HR Business Partners. He is also responsible for employee relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as volunteer services and the auxiliaries.
Along with a terrific team of leaders, HR and support professionals, he guided the health system through the COVID-19 pandemic and a significant leadership restructuring using a variety of creative ways to support staff while ensuring financial recovery. In creating the Resilience, Education and Support Team, HR partnered with Spiritual Services and Behavioral Health to rapidly deploy resources to areas in crisis.
With a human resources career spanning more than 30 years, Mike has served Northwestern Medicine, Children’s Hospital Colorado, MolsonCoors Brewing Company, Rockwell Automation and AlliedSignal (now Honeywell). He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University and a Master of Business Administration from the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and as a Society of Human Resource Management-Certified Professional.
