Hema Kapoor, MD

Hema Kapoor, MD, senior medical director, Quest Diagnostics, serves as an expert for consultations in infectious, autoimmune and allergic diseases including COVID-19, bacterial, tuberculosis, viral (Hepatitis B and C, HIV), fungal, rheumatic and gastric. She also leads company initiatives in global markets, industry thought leaders and payers.

Dr. Kapoor joined Quest Diagnostics in 2004 and most recently served as medical director; medical science liaison; and technical director, infectious diseases. Prior to joining Quest, Dr. Kapoor was the manager of virology at the Michigan Department of Community Health. Early in her career, Dr. Kapoor worked at tertiary care hospitals where she was subject matter expert for infectious disease testing, drug resistant bacteria, hospital infection control and interventions.

She has served as an invited speaker at national and regional meetings. She has co-authored in peer reviewed publications. In June 2021, she was recognized as one of the Champions of Humanistic Care by Anthony Fauci, MD, who accepted his medal from the Gold Foundation on behalf of all U.S. healthcare team members for their immense contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is a member of the Hepatitis B forum and Viral Hepatitis Elimination Plan for Pennsylvania.
