Biography
Dr. Kett received his medical degree from the University of Pécs in September 1990 and completed post-graduate training as a resident in obstetrics and gynecology in Hungary. He became a faculty member of the University of Pécs, rising to the rank of assistant professor. Later, Kett joined Case Western University as a Postdoctoral Fellow to focus on developing novel opioid peptide analogues for obstetric anesthesia followed by a residency and subspeciality training in obstetric anesthesia at New York University. Kett completed his Executive MBA at the University of Tennessee Haslam School of Business.
In 2002, Kett joined the Department of Anesthesiology at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. He served several years as chief of the obstetric anesthesia division before becoming chair. His additional roles include serving as the director of the Blood Conservation Program and as the anesthesia champion for the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Program. He has been awarded numerous honors throughout his career, served as principal investigator of multiple clinical trials and authored numerous peer-reviewed publications.
Kett was instrumental in implementing the first Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean Section Program in the United States. His research interests are optimizing perioperative care, minimizing opioids and improving value in the perioperative setting.
