Biography

Joanne Carrocino, FACHE, is president/CEO, Cape Regional Health System, Cape May Court House, N.J.

She also serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 48,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the preeminent professional society for leaders dedicated to advancing health.

Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Ms. Carrocino served as the ACHE Regent-at-Large for District 1 from 2017 to 2020, and on the Regent Assessment Committee from 2018 to 2019.

Before joining Cape Regional Health System in 2004, Ms. Carrocino served as president, Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, N.J., from 1996 to 2004. Prior to that she was administrator and system vice president, Inova Health System, Springfield, Va., from 1994 to 1996; vice president, operations (1991 to 1994) and assistant vice president, operations (1987 to 1991), Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, N.J.; assistant administrator, Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach, Fla., from 1984 to 1987; and administrative resident, Kennedy Health System, Stratford, N.J., from 1983 to 1984.

Ms. Carrocino has received various awards throughout her career, including the 2002 Regent’s Award from ACHE. In addition to her service to ACHE, she has served on the Vizient Executive Board since 2015, the Volunteers in Medicine Board since 2004 and the Beryl Institute Executive Board since 2014. She also served on the American Hospital Association Board from 2012 to 2015, and on the New Jersey Hospital Association’s Board from 2005 to 2015, as well as many other board appointments during her career.

Ms. Carrocino received an MBA from Temple University, Philadelphia, where she graduated magna cum laude, and a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Rowan University, Glassboro, N.J., where she graduated summa cum laude.
