Biography

Dr. Jonathan Parsons is Professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors and Distinction from Duke University. He went on to medical school at Medical College of Ohio where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at The Ohio State University. He joined the Faculty at OSU in 2006 and has served in many administrative leadership roles including Chief, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Parsons’ research interests focus on asthma with a particular interest in athletes with asthma and exercise-induced asthma. He has published over 90 manuscripts, book chapters, and abstracts in international journals related asthma and given numerous presentations internationally. He currentyl serves as Medical Director of Ambulatory Services at The Ohio State UniversityHe has held several leadership positions within the American Thoracic Society and chaired the writing committee that published clinical practice guidelines on the diagnosis and management of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction.
