Biography

Kim Byas is the CEO of Leadership Lessons From, Inc., a non-profit focused on addressing health disparities and leadership development.  He is also program director, Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership, Union Institute & University.  Dr. Byas has over 40 years of experience in healthcare leadership in various settings—including federal health policy, direct patient care, public health, health insurance, strategic consulting and higher education.  Dr. Byas also conducts grounded theory research on leadership; and teaches healthcare ethics to Master of Business Administration degree students at Loyola University Chicago; healthcare policy to MHA students at Rush University, Chicago; and serves on various boards of not-for-profit organizations. Dr. Byas received his doctorate in ethical and creative leadership from Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, a Master in Public Health degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio. He is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
