Biography

Lily Jung Henson, MD, FACHE, is the CEO of Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, Ga. Prior to this role, she was the CMO of PHH and helped to reduce serious safety events by 83% and hospital acquired infections by half. Other leadership roles she has had include chief of neurology at Piedmont Healthcare, vice president of medical affairs at Swedish Ballard Hospital and chief of staff at Swedish Issaquah Hospital.
 
Dr. Henson is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a past Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Program Scholar. She previously served as Regent-at-Large for District 2.
 
Dr. Henson is a board-certified neurologist and recently served as stroke clinic director and neurohospitalist at Swedish Health Services in Seattle. She was a clinical investigator involved in many multiple sclerosis therapy trials. She was also a clinical associate professor of neurology at the University of Washington.
 
She serves on the national board of directors of the National MS Society and the board of directors of the American Academy of Neurology, Piedmont Healthcare Foundation, Piedmont Healthcare/Encompass Health Joint Venture and Gordon State University Foundation. She also serves on the Georgia Board of Healthcare Workforce. She previously served as the chair of the American Academy of Neurology Brain PAC and vice chair of the AAN’s Legislative Affairs Committee. She is a graduate of the Palatucci Leadership Program of the AAN.
