Biography
With over 35 years of experience in hospital facilities operations, design and construction, Sean Sevy is driven by a deep commitment to safety, comfort, excellence and is passionate about creating hospital environments that support the best possible patient care. Sevy has contributed to numerous high-impact projects throughout the Houston area, including the opening of St. Luke’s Medical Tower and flood restoration efforts at Memorial Hermann Hospital and St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital following Tropical Storm Allison.
Since joining Houston Methodist in 2005 at the Sugar Land campus, Sevy has played a critical role in expanding and enhancing healthcare infrastructure. He was instrumental in the design and construction of several new patient towers and medical office buildings at the Sugar Land and Baytown Houston Methodist Hospital System campuses, as well as the Sugar Land Main Pavilion expansion, increasing the hospital’s capacity from 54 to 183 beds. During his tenure at Houston Methodist Sugar Land, Sevy received the prestigious ICARE Award. In 2024, Sevy transitioned to a system-level facilities role, where he now oversees projects across the Houston Methodist system.
Sevy holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston, Victoria. He is a regional representative for the Texas Association of Healthcare Facilities Management and an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety, the American Society for Industrial Security and the National Fire Protection Association.
