    <div id="pastingspan1"></div><div id="pastingspan1">Thomas A. Atchison, EdD, is president and founder of Atchison Consulting LLC. Since 1984, Dr. Atchison has consulted with healthcare organizations on managed change programs, team building and leadership development. His clients include senior executives, managers, trustees and physician leaders. He has also consulted the military, healthcare vendors and government agencies on the intangible aspects of healthcare.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div id="pastingspan1">Dr. Atchison has taught several courses on leadership and change management for ACHE. He has also written numerous articles about motivation, managed change, teambuilding and leadership. His book, <em>Turning Healthcare Leadership Around</em>, was published in October 1990.     <div>Brian Silverstein is a director with The Chartis Group in Chicago. Dr. Silverstein is a national healthcare thought leader with extensive consulting and operational expertise, including a focus on population management. He previously was managing partner, HC Wisdom LLC, in Glencoe, Ill., and senior vice president at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, where he ran one of the country&#8217;s largest primary ACO/PCMH programs with over 1 million patients and 3,500 providers. Dr. Silverstein&#8217;s consulting career included roles as managing director of the Geisinger Consulting Group and senior vice president at the Camden Group.   • Laura W. Synnott, FACHE

    <p>Laura Synnott is associate teaching professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She provides operations, project management and strategy-development consulting services to healthcare providers. Ms. Synnott previously served as a hospital operations vice president overseeing ancillary and support departments, as well as construction projects. She has overseen numerous projects including an outpatient surgery addition, an emergency department expansion and a credentials verification organization.     William Garrison is a Chicago-based independent health care consultant. He previously led The RTI Center for Health Care Advancement, headquartered in North Carolina, where he leveraged RTI's payment/policy, care delivery and HIT/clinical informatics strengths, enabling transformation. Prior to RTI, he held executive roles with two regional health care systems and a private equity backed provider. With expertise in strategy and operations, he currently helps organizations identify and execute growth strategies. Mr. Garrison's skills in marketing, sales management, enterprise and business-unit strategic planning, and joint venture evaluation and execution puts him at the forefront of change management and business model redesign.   • Leslie Wainwright, PhD

    <div>Leslie Wainwright is chief funding and innovation officer, Parkland Center for Clinical Innovations, Dallas. Her experience includes academic research, pharma/biotechnology and healthcare delivery; working with startups and multinational executive teams in creating growth strategies and alternative business models; and evaluating emerging clinical\care delivery technologies. Dr. Wainwright speaks on future of healthcare, enabling technologies, disruptive innovation and emerging business models. Prior to joining Parkland, she oversaw RTI International&#8217;s Innovation Advisors health practice, guiding the development and adoption of healthcare innovation. She has held executive roles with Sg2, AVIA and Business Models Inc.     Michael Nowicki, EdD, FACHE, is a professor of health administration at Texas State University, where his teaching, research and service have been recognized with several university awards. <div>&nbsp;</div> <div id="pastingspan1"></div> <div id="pastingspan1">Prior to joining academe, Dr. Nowicki was director of process management in the Hospital Division of Humana for six years. Dr. Nowicki has also held a variety of administrative positions at Valley Medical Center, Fresno, Calif.; Hutzel Hospital, Detroit; Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, D.C.; and Lubbock (Texas) Medical Center. Dr. Nowicki has provided training support to healthcare organizations such as University of California&#8212;San Diego, Defense Health Agency, Spectrum Health, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, Cardinal Health, Kaiser Permanente, HCA, Baylor Healthcare System and Howard University Hospital.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div id="pastingspan1"></div> <div id="pastingspan1">Dr. Nowicki is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.     Erik Rasmussen is vice president of the Advocacy and Public Policy Group in the Federal Relations Department of the American Hospital Association. He is responsible for representing AHA&#8217;s interests before the U.S. Congress. Mr. Rasmussen&#8217;s primary goals are to promote hospitals&#8217; interests with primary congressional committees with greatest importance to hospitals and play a leadership role in developing AHA&#8217;s strategies and articulating AHA&#8217; s policies on assigned congressional committees.
