    <div>M. Michael Shabot, MD, is a founding partner of Relia Healthcare Advisors, which provides services in the areas of high reliability safety and quality, executive leadership development, organizational culture assessment, medical staff governance and implementation of the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Framework. Dr. Shabot previously served as executive vice president and system chief clinical officer of Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Under Dr. Shabot&#8217;s leadership, Memorial Hermann embarked on a journey to high reliability safety. In 2016, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital received the Baldrige National Quality Award, and in 2017 and 2018 respectively, Memorial Hermann&#8217;s Katy Hospital and Memorial City Medical Center received the Texas Award for Performance Excellence, which is based on the Baldrige Award criteria.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Dr. Shabot is an adjunct professor at the UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics and UTHealth School of Public Health. He also serves on the Board Quality Committee of the Mercy System, St. Louis. Prior to joining Memorial Hermann, he was employed in multiple roles at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles. He is co-author of the book Integrating Quality and Strategy in Health Care Organizations, published in August 2012.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Dr. Shabot received his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He is board certified in general surgery and surgery critical care. </div><div>&nbsp;</div>

  • Heath E. Rushing

    Heath E. Rushing is senior vice president/CEO with Memorial Hermann Katy and Cypress (Texas) Hospitals. He also serves as senior vice president for the oncology service line across the system. Previously, Mr. Rushing spent 10 years at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble, Texas, where he served in a variety of administrative capacities, including CEO in 2015. During his tenure at Northeast, the hospital transitioned into the Memorial Hermann Health System and he helped establish the high-reliability journey that the hospital continues today. Mr. Rushing remains focused on maintaining the system's culture of safety goals for all stakeholders in the healthcare environment..

  • Khalid Almoosa, MD, MBA

    Khalid Almoosa, MD, is vice president/CMO with Memorial Hermann Katy and Cypress (Texas) Hospitals and Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in Houston. Dr. Almoosa has practiced pulmonary and critical care medicine in several facilities in Ohio and Texas, has been medical director for three ICUs, vice-chair for quality in an internal medicine department and medical director of a center for interprofessional collaboration. He has also served on the faculties of two medical schools, held several physician leadership roles and led hospitalwide and systemwide process improvement projects. Dr. Almoosa has pursued training in Six Sigma quality improvement methodology, patient safety and leadership. He is currently completing his MBA.

  • Sachin Bhandari, JD

    Speaker

    Sachin Bhandari, JD, is associate general counsel for labor and employment, and associate vice president of employee relations with Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston. He also oversees the system&#8217;s centralized employee relations department. In his role as general counsel, He provides day-to-day advice and counsel to managers and executives on a variety of employment law matters. He regularly consults on hiring, discipline and termination decisions, in addition to conducting sensitive investigations. Licensed to practice law in Texas and New York, Mr. Sachin was previously assistant general counsel for the New York City Mayor&#8217;s Office of Labor Relations, representing city agencies and participating in labor negotiations with city unions.
