Session Focus and Requirements

Focus of the Sessions

Congress sessions focus on the experiences of healthcare leaders, enterprise decision makers or implementers of technologies or processes. Proposals should generally be consistent with that focus and/or new methodologies, techniques or tools supporting such application.

Responsibilities of the Main Faculty

The main faculty person is responsible for the format and content of the presentation and for ensuring that materials are correctly assembled. He or she also will be the primary contact with ACHE. If your proposal is accepted and any of your co-faculty cancel, the main faculty is charged with securing a replacement who is acceptable to ACHE.

No Commercial Content

Submissions will not be selected if they appear to directly promote specific products/services or are of a commercial nature. Likewise, if your submission is selected, ACHE has the right to request that you make modifications to keep your session within the “no commercial content” restrictions.

Session Length and Number of Speakers

When submitting your proposal, you will be asked to select either a 1-or 1.5-hour session length. The number of speakers should be commensurate with the length of the session.

Proposal Submission Limits

Proposal submissions should be limited to three per individual or organization. This limit applies to any presenter, regardless of whether he or she is a main or co-faculty. In the event that more than three proposals are submitted, only the first three received will be considered.

Criteria for Acceptance of Proposals

To assist you in submitting a successful proposal, we suggest that you review the following list. While not all of the criteria must be met, accepted proposals generally meet most of them. Proposals should:

  • Address a topic of critical interest to healthcare executives.
  • Ensure that key elements of the presentation are described in a clear and logical fashion.
  • Illustrate the experience and expertise of all faculty.
  • Note any faculty with experience speaking or publishing with ACHE.
  • Include at least one healthcare executive from a provider organization as a presenter.
  • Discuss practical applications and focus on solutions, not just the problem.
  • Show how content will be delivered in the timeframe selected (1-or 1.5-hour).
  • Demonstrate originality and innovation.
  • Provide take-home tools, new techniques or strategies.
  • Explain how audience interaction will be included.
  • Include no more than three speakers.

Except under extraordinary circumstances, additional speakers or panelists may not be added after proposal acceptance. ACHE pre-approval is always required for any speakers added after the close of the proposal process.
