<div>Jim Austin<strong>&nbsp;</strong>heads JH Austin Associates Inc., Chicago, where he combines business strategy and organizational development theory with extensive industry experience to guide organizations. He is also an adjunct senior lecturer at Brown University, Providence, R.H., in the Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership program, and a faculty member at Duke Corporate Education, headquartered in Durham, N.C. <p>Michael Broscio is Managing Principal of MAB Career Management, LLC. He recently completed more than ten years as the Director of ACHE's Career Resource Center. He is certified as a Career Management Fellow by the Institute of Career Certification International and brings more than 25 years of career development and human resources experience in healthcare, financial services and academic settings.</p> <p>Mr. Broscio received a Master's Degree in Education and a B.A. in Psychology from DePaul University. He has written numerous magazine articles on career issues and has presented at national conferences.</p>

Rita Fritz is founder and president of Systems Inc. in Chicago. She has helped healthcare organizations throughout the United States and Canada to accelerate performance and improve their internal systems. Her particular focus is on studying and applying systems and strategies to healthcare that have been shown to work well in other industries. Previously, Ms. Fritz was president of Health Systems Design Inc., associate vice president of a 500-plus–bed hospital and director of technology policy and administration for the American Hospital Association.

<p>Anita Halvorsen, FACHE, is senior vice president, Executive Engagement, American College of Healthcare Executives in Chicago. The role encompasses the oversight of membership and credentialing of the 51,000 healthcare executive members of the professional association. Additionally, Ms. Halvorsen leads the Customer Service Center, the Career Resource Center and Research and has responsibility over diversity and inclusion, strategic partnerships, and numerous forum memberships. Prior to ACHE, Ms. Halvorsen was a regional strategy and growth officer for Presence Health in Chicago. She served as an ACHE Regent from 2014 to 2016. Before assuming progressive executive leadership roles in several healthcare organizations, Ms. Halvorsen worked as a speech-language pathologist.</p>

<div>Kevin O'Connor is a Certified Speaking Professional^TM and a specialist in educating and coaching professionals charged with leading professional peers&#8212;particularly healthcare leaders and their physician partners. His major areas of focus are leadership, influence, innovation and the development of healthcare executive/physician leader teams. Mr. O'Connor teaches at Chicago's Loyola University and taught previously at Columbia College, Chicago's performing arts school. Orlikoff is president of Orlikoff &amp; Associates Inc., a consulting firm specializing in healthcare governance, leadership, strategy, quality, patient safety and system development. He serves as the National Advisor on Governance and Leadership to the American Hospital Association and Health Forum.</div><div>&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div>Mr. Orlikoff has been involved in leadership, quality and strategy issues for more than 40 years. He has consulted with hospitals and systems in 12 countries, and has worked with hospital and system governing boards to strengthen their overall effectiveness and their oversight of strategy and quality. He has worked extensively on improving the relationships between boards, medical staff and management. He has written 15 books and more than 100 articles, and he has served on hospital, college and civic boards. He is currently the chair of the board of the St. Charles Health System, Bend, Ore. He also served as the vice chair of the Virginia Mason Health System Board in Seattle. His book, Board Work: Governing Health Care Organizations, won the ACHE James A. <p>Sarah Freymann Fontenot, JD, served as the adjunct professor for health law in the Department of Health Care Administration at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas for 26 years and retired in 2023. A former nurse and practicing attorney, she is also a professional speaker who specializes in explaining how healthcare is evolving and what those changes mean for providers. Fontenot also has taught extensively for physician organizations including the Texas Medical Association and for ACHE since 2007, for which she is an online instructor for the Board of Governors Examination Review course, Health Law Essentials. Previously, Fontenot taught in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at Yale Medical School in New Haven, Connecticut. </p>

Nathan Kaufman is managing director/founder of Kaufman Strategic Advisors LLC, an established San Diego-based company. A noted consultant, author and lecturer, Mr. Kaufman has made significant contributions to the body of healthcare literature during his more than 40 years&#8217; experience in the healthcare industry, including more than 76 published articles. As a nationally renowned expert in the areas of peak-performing hospitals and physician groups, hospital strategy, physician compensation, integrated delivery systems, managed care, joint ventures and dispute resolution, he has served as an expert witness in healthcare arbitration cases. He regularly speaks on these topics and others for numerous health system organizations and healthcare associations throughout the country and presents at numerous major conferences as a keynote speaker. Throughout his career, Mr. Kaufman has held executive positions, including president/COO of an imaging center company. He holds a master&#8217;s degree in health systems and a bachelor&#8217;s degree in psychology.

<div>Chris Laubach is president of the Center for Management Programs, a training and consulting firm based in Agoura Hills, Calif., which provides educational programs to healthcare industry organizations. An educator and consultant for more than 20 years, Mr. Laubach is a frequent lecturer and teacher on negotiation. Martha Whitecotton is senior vice president, behavioral health services, Carolinas HealthCare System in Charlotte, N.C. Prior to her role at Carolinas HealthCare System, Ms. Whitecotton was president, Levine Children’s Hospital, also in Charlotte. She began her healthcare leadership career as a nurse manager for the neonatal ICU at Northwest Texas Hospital, Amarillo. A recipient of the 2009 Women in Business Award from the Charlotte Business Journal, she completed a Nurse Executive fellowship at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005. She earned a master’s degree in family nursing and a bachelor’s degree in nursing, both from West Texas State University.

<p>Jon Burroughs, MD, JD, FACHE is president/CEO of The Burroughs Healthcare Consulting Network, Inc., Glen, New Hampshire, which provides best-practice training and solutions to healthcare systems throughout the United States and beyond. His work focuses on how healthcare systems can adopt best practices and avoid systems failures which can result in loss of public confidence and market share. He works with executive teams, governing boards, medical staff and clinical leadership. He also works with legal counsel to ensure compliance and avoidance of unnecessary risk by demonstrating how leadership can be aligned to achieve exceptional results. <div id="pastingspan1">Stephan Davis, DNP, FACHE, is the inaugural executive director of inclusive leadership education for the Department of Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University. He also serves as assistant dean of diversity, equity and inclusion for VCU&#8217;s College of Health Professions, which houses programs across nine disciplines. These include top-ranked programs in U.S. News and World Report, such as nurse anesthesia (No. 1 in the nation), healthcare management and rehabilitation counseling (ranked in the top 5), and physical therapy and occupational therapy (ranked in the top 20).</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div id="pastingspan1">Davis is a faculty member for the American College of Healthcare Executives and an ACHE Fellow. He recently served ACHE as chair of the LGBTQ Healthcare Leaders Community and as a Regent-at-Large, a role created to foster diversity in the governance of ACHE. In addition, he serves as chair of the Quality and Safety Faculty Forum for the Association of University Programs in Health Administration. For his leadership in the interprofessional context, he has been elected as a distinguished scholar and fellow of the National Academies of Practice 2022 class of inductees. Davis holds numerous board certifications, including credentials in healthcare quality, finance, strengths-based coaching, nursing leadership and academic nursing education.</div><div></div>

<p><strong>Carson F. Dye, FACHE,</strong> president and CEO of Exceptional Leadership LLC, is a seasoned consultant with more than 40 years of leadership and management experience. He has served as an executive search consultant and partner with Witt/Kieffer, TMP Worldwide, and LAI/Lamalie Associates. Prior to these roles, he was partner and director of Findley Davies’s healthcare consulting division in Toledo, Ohio. He has 20 years of experience in healthcare administration, serving in executive-level positions at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Clermont Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.&nbsp;<br><br>Mr. Dye has been a regular faculty member for the American College of Healthcare Executives since 1987 and has presented workshops for 40 state and local hospital associations. He has written 10 other books, all published by ACHE Learn, including three James A. <div>Betsy Chapin Taylor has worked in healthcare philanthropy for seventeen years. She has served as Chief Development Officer and Foundation President for academic, community, public and faith-based healthcare systems. She has also worked in healthcare marketing, political advance work and journalism. Taylor has an MS in journalism from Columbia University in New York and an MBA from the University of Georgia. <p>Gary Yates is a former partner with Press Ganey Strategic Consulting and the founding president of Healthcare Performance Improvement (HPI) LLC. Prior to that, he was senior vice president/CMO for Sentara Healthcare, where his responsibilities included the clinical effectiveness, patient safety, physician integration and medical management initiatives for Sentara’s integrated health system. He is a board-certified family physician and currently serves on the Board of Stewardship Trustees for CommonSpirit Health.</p>
