Program Spotlight: 2021 Executive Program Launches
Meet the challenges of tomorrow with bold new solutions through ACHE’s Executive Program, a unique learning experience that supports individualized professional development and organizational goals for healthcare leaders. Divided into three cohorts, the Executive Program is designed for executives, senior executives and physician executives.
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Executive Program will be offered through a series of interactive virtual course work, panel discussions, professional leadership assessments and individualized coaching and career advising sessions. All Executive Program participants will earn up to 40 Face-to-Face Education credits for completing the program, which has educational modules in June, August and October, individualized career coaching sessions and participant process improvement projects. Learn more about the program agenda here.
A limited number of scholarships are available for individuals whose organizations lack the resources to fully fund their tuition. Scholarship applications will be accepted until April 23. Learn more about the scholarships and apply here.
Application Period Opens Today for Diversity Career Accelerator Program
Starting today, mid-careerists from racially, ethnically and LGBTQ-diverse backgrounds can apply to the inaugural Thomas C. Dolan Career Accelerator Program. This new program empowers mid-level careerists to advance to higher leadership roles as they navigate the complex professional and personal environments.
Since 2014, the Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Program has helped to prepare senior-level healthcare careerists from underrepresented groups to ascend to and advance in the C-suite of hospitals, health systems and other healthcare organizations. This year, ACHE re-envisioned the EDP to expand its reach and impact with the addition of the Career Accelerator Program.
To learn more about the Career Accelerator Program, please visit ache.org/CareerAcceleratorProgram. To apply for the 2021 Dolan CAP, review the application requirements here, and complete the application for submission here. The deadline to apply is May 14.
Explore the 2021 Management Innovations Exchange Presentations
This year’s Management Innovations Exchange presentations showcase innovations by healthcare leaders and the improvements they have created. This year’s innovations include responses to COVID-19, rural leadership insights into providing access to care, establishing an organizational culture of high reliability and improving patient satisfaction. The presentations are available at ache.org/MIExchange.
A Dedication to Community
“I have always been drawn to academic medical centers and those with a real dedication to community, particularly to Medicaid patients and charity care,” says John M. Haupert, FACHE, president and CEO of Grady Health System in Atlanta, in an interview in the March/April 2021 issue of the Journal of Healthcare Management. As the fifth-largest public hospital in the United States, Grady plays a central role in the region’s pandemic response even while facing other momentous challenges. In the interview, conducted at the start of the COVID-19 vaccination rollout at Grady, Haupert shares his career highlights.
The March/April issue of ACHE’s official journal is now available online to all ACHE members at ache.org/Journals.
Recent Grads: Fellowship Opportunities at Their Fingertips
