New JHM Examines Effective Decision-Making, Change Management Strategies
“What information do healthcare leaders need to manage complex healthcare issues and to make effective strategic decisions?” In the January/February Journal of Healthcare Management, Editor Eric W. Ford, PhD, poses this query to the GPT-3 artificial intelligence tool. The response earns a mixed score in his editorial.
“CEOs and others in administrative, high-level positions should always use their knowledge to help the leaders who will come behind us,” says Odette C. Bolano, FACHE, president and CEO of Saint Alphonsus Health System. Learn more about her passion for mentoring and her nursing-based leadership philosophy in an interview featured in this issue.
How can healthcare leaders develop initiatives that are both incremental and revolutionary? They need to build a strategic pyramid, explains educator, consultant and author Jim Austin in this article about change management strategies.
Explore the rest of the January/February Journal of Healthcare Management, including research articles about the most important job satisfaction factors, shifts in how for-profit hospitals are meeting community needs, a comparison of the financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on hospitals, and the value of on-site daycare for healthcare employees’ children to both employees and employers.
