A Playbook for Leadership
It’s impossible to prepare for every situation, but when challenges arise, the right approach will help a leader guide, direct and inspire hope. The end of the year is a good time to reflect on the bold and courageous actions you’ve made to move your team or organization forward, according to author Jo Ann Preston in Lead the Way in Five Minutes a Day: Sparking High Performance in Yourself and Your Team.
Lead the Way focuses on practical solutions, rather than complex theories and jargon, and is meant to be used as a reference book. Leaders can flip to the topic that’s most relevant for them and receive a stand-alone, five-minute read with tips, reflections, actions to take and techniques for addressing whatever challenge they currently are facing. The 11 chapters cover everyday, real-life topics like communication, diversity and workplace culture, and each one begins with a self-assessment guide to identify relevant strengths and address opportunities for growth.
“What not to expect here: The one way to lead. My intention in writing this book is that you sort that out for yourself,” writes Preston.
