Program Spotlight: Webinar: The Path to Rational Drug Use
The COVID-19 crisis has underscored the importance of a well-developed and highly functioning medication use process. As the pandemic continues, health systems will face ongoing critical decision-making on therapeutics and preventative measures such as vaccines.
During this complimentary webinar on Tuesday, healthcare leaders will discover the approach and strategies leading health systems have adopted to assure medication use is safe, effective and available to patients. Paul W. Bush, PharmD, BCPS, FASHP, vice president, Global Resource Development and Consulting, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, will describe recognized best practices in achieving the most appropriate use of medications, and identify committee structures, administrative support and resources required for success. He will also discuss the importance of an evidence-based approach to determination of drug use guidelines and protocols, and he will examine how rational drug use influences overall medication expense.
This webinar is free and eligible for 1 ACHE Qualified Education credit. Register today.

Moderated by Stan Thompson, MD, chief clinical officer, LifePoint and TeamHealth Strategic Partnership, the panelists will also address how the disparate impact of COVID-19 on marginalized communities is compounded by the elevated recognition of racial injustices, and how all healthcare leaders can advance inclusive workplace cultures to support organizational and individual resiliency.
