Build Self-Awareness, Prevent Career Derailment
ACHE’s Digital Self-Study Courses allow participants to set their own pace while developing the leadership and management skills needed to advance their careers. Each course is worth 6 ACHE Qualified Education credits that can be applied toward advancement as a Fellow of ACHE or recertification.
All ACHE members and Fellows can benefit from the self-study course “Building Self-Awareness to Prevent Career Derailment,” based on the book The Healthcare Leader’s Guide to Actions, Awareness and Perception, Third Edition, by Carson F. Dye, FACHE, and Brett D. Lee, PhD, FACHE.
The course covers tools that can assist leaders in raising their level of self-awareness in order to avoid a professional setback, including knowing the difference between bright-side and dark-side traits and how to translate feedback into meaningful changes.

2024 Management Innovations Call for Proposals
Authors are invited to submit narratives of their posters for consideration for the Annual Management Innovations Poster Session to be held at the 2024 Congress on Healthcare Leadership.
This is a unique opportunity for authors to share the innovative work being done at their organizations with other healthcare leaders. ACHE is interested in innovations addressing issues affecting your organization that might be helpful to others, including improving quality or efficiency, improving patient or physician satisfaction, implementation of EHRs or uses of new technology.
Go to ache.org/CongressPosterSession for the full selection criteria. Narratives should be submitted as an email attachment to PosterSessions@ache.org by Jan. 16, 2024.
Webinar: Pipeline to Empowerment
During this one-hour webinar, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. Central time, attendees will gain best practices in identifying community needs and sustainable engagement structures, alongside strategies toward implementing effective hospital, health system and community partnerships that foster an inclusive culture.
Titled “Pipeline to Empowerment: Advancing Health Equity Through Community Involvement,” the webinar is free and eligible for 1 ACHE Qualified Education credit. Credits can be self-reported at my.ache.org.
Rethinking the Future of Elder Care
Elderly patients need care that is responsive to their lives and living conditions, which can begin with home-based primary care, supported by technology, according to a recent ACHE blog post.
Every day, 10,000 people are turning 65, and by 2030 all the baby boomers will be over 65, and Medicare will be supporting the largest number of beneficiaries in its history.
Amanda S. Tufano, FACHE, CEO, Genevive, Minneapolis, suggests in her blog post that the United States could benefit from rethinking care for its aging population. She gives examples from her recent experience in the Netherlands, where alternative strategies for elder care are being tested.
Find out how the Dutch are working to redefine caregiver and care delivery—and insightful questions for U.S. healthcare leaders to ponder—as well as check out other leading-edge commentary on the ACHE Blog.
