Online Seminar

A Review of Health Law

Healthcare executives must be continually cognizant of legal and regulatory repercussions in areas as diverse as billing, patient rights, mandatory reporting and patient care. This vast field of knowledge is formidable, and it’s made all the more complicated by a variety of sources of law, including both federal and state compliance issues. The recent forward movement of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) further confuses many executives, as the ACA interacts with many aspects of compliance and creates new mandates and legal requirements in healthcare administration.

This newly updated online seminar provides an overview of health law, including components of the ACA. The program is designed with a global approach that facilitates learning by explaining legal issues within a broader context. Interaction through weekly postings expands the educational opportunity as various aspects of health law are discussed with other participants.

You'll Learn:

  • An overview of health law, including both civil and criminal liabilities.
  • How state jurisdiction and federal law interact in the realm of healthcare.
  • How the Affordable Care Act (ACA) enhances or changes previous legal requirements in healthcare administration.
