Spotlight:

Digital Self-Study Courses

Develop the leadership and management skills you need to advance your career through ACHE’s Self-Study Courses—now in a digital format. Our library of digital courses allows you the freedom of independent study, setting your own pace while discovering a range of topics.

After registering, you’ll receive instructions and course materials on how to complete the training, including required readings, an assessment and course evaluation. Completing each course earns you six ACHE Qualifying Education credits that can be applied toward ACHE advancement or recertification.

Courses explore timely topics such as leadership, patient care and customer satisfaction, physician-administrator relationships, strategic planning and financial management. You’ll find a breadth of healthcare management fundamentals—all to help you advance your career. In addition, each course topic corresponds with a book published by Health Administration Press.

Access to each course can be found through the “My Online Learning” portal in your My ACHE account. You’ll have 180 days from the date of purchase to complete all course requirements, and credits will be applied automatically after all course requirements are fulfilled. Virtual Event Focuses on Future of Organ Transplantation

Registration is now open for a new program that will delve into the future of organs for transplant. Hosted by the Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance, this virtual event will take place Tuesday, April 30, and will explore evolving or alternative therapies beyond traditional human donor transplants.

The forum will focus on the variety of significant clinical innovations in organs for transplant and the expected system implications associated with these innovations.

Topics to be covered include: xenotransplantation, organ regeneration and rehabilitation, 3D printing, cryopreservation and decellurization/recellurization. There will also be a focus on the future of organ allocation and logistics, ethical considerations and business models of organ procurement organizations and transplant centers as these developing technologies continue to evolve.

Workshop Series Delves Into Healthcare Worker Wellness

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is offering a free three-part virtual workshop series to improve professional well-being for all healthcare workers. This event–to be held via Zoom on April 23, May 7 and May 21—allows participants to attend part or all sessions.

NIOSH, which is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, offers six actions hospital leaders can take to improve healthcare workers’ well-being. Session participants will become familiar with the Impact Wellbeing Guide, developed by NIOSH, in partnership with the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation, and tested in six CommonSpirit hospitals across the U.S., to support workplace improvements in hospitals.
