Leadership Spotlight: Recovery and Reimagining Healthcare at NewYork-Presbyterian

Some of the first patients in New York state—the U.S. epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic—were treated at NewYork-Presbyterian hospitals, and the system has since seen a massive surge in patients. Join us June 2 for a free interactive webinar with ACHE Chairman Michael J. Fosina, FACHE, president, NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital, Bronxville, N.Y., and senior vice president, NewYork-Presbyterian, New York, and Steven J. Corwin, MD, president and CEO, NewYork-Presbyterian, to learn how their organization has been navigating the coronavirus crisis, as well as plans and strategies to reopen.

This webinar, eligible for 1 ACHE Qualified Education credit, is the latest in a series providing executive insights about organizational response to the COVID-19 pandemic. For more thought leadership, including recordings of previous webinars and other resources and tools to help guide you through these unprecedented times, please visit ache.org/COVID.

The group is collaborating with hospital partners and deploying resources to care for patients and communities across the U.S. Envision’s many initiatives to support clinicians and patients include:

  • Securing more than 5 million items of personal protective equipment to support Envision’s clinicians and hospital partners.

Join ACHE in Recognizing National Safety Month and #HAVhope Friday

Now more than ever before, ensuring safety inside and outside the workplace is of critical importance. Observed annually in June by the National Safety Council, National Safety Month focuses on saving lives and preventing injuries, especially in the workplace.

At ACHE, we recognize that creating a culture of safety in healthcare is a challenging endeavor. That’s why we collaborated with leaders of exemplar healthcare organizations and renowned experts in leadership, safety and culture to develop Leading a Culture of Safety: A Blueprint for Success. In recognition of National Safety Month, we invite you to learn more about the blueprint, take the Leading for Safety Pledge and assess your organization’s safety culture.

Additionally, ACHE and the American Hospital Association are asking you to support national, state and local efforts June 5 to help end violence in our communities. Known as #HAVhope Friday, the Hospitals Against Violence initiative is a digital media campaign with the goal of ending all forms of violence and helping hospital employees cope with the impact of violence.

On this national day of awareness, you can share tweets, post photos and engage others online to showcase your commitment to combatting violence. To participate, follow the conversation on social media using the hashtag #HAVhope and post your own #HAVhope photos to highlight the work and commitment to combatting violence in your community or workplace. To find out more about how you can support #HAVhope day, download AHA’s informational flyer.
