2024 Executive Program

Monthly Membership Perk:

Lattice vs. Ladder: Reimagining Executive Career Advancement

The notably rapid increase of industry restructuring to matrixed mega systems has derailed the traditional, linear path of advancement for many healthcare executives. Aspiring leaders must navigate the organizational lattice rather than “climb the ladder.” The concept of loyalty to one employer seems antiquated if one is to obtain the different experiences and skills required for executive career growth. Members can now access, at no charge, the online session “Lattice vs. Ladder: Reimagining Executive Career Advancement,” which examines career advancement trends for healthcare executives.

This webinar explores executives’ nontraditional routes to reach their current destinations and illustrates new ways of thinking about career advancement, encouraging healthcare executives to think creatively and proactively about their whole career trajectory instead of just their next role.

Recordings such as these regularly cost members $49 but as the Monthly Membership Perk for March, this session is free of charge through April 11; enter the discount code MARPERK2024 when you register online. For related, supplemental or other topics of interest, be sure to browse the full ACHE On-Demand Digital Learning catalog.

We hope you enjoy this Monthly Membership Perk, and we thank you for being a part of the ACHE community.

Recommitting to Patient Safety

Improving healthcare safety requires leaders who are committed and will take a stand to achieve the highest standards of safety. As we prepare to recognize Patient Safety Awareness Week, March 10–16, ACHE is dedicated to amplifying the importance of safety and serving as a catalyst for the field of healthcare management.

Our leadership development expertise offers healthcare leaders the foundational tools to build, measure and sustain cultures of safety in the workplace, and our Leading for Safety initiative is a good place to begin. Through this initiative, you can take the We Lead for Safety pledge and assess your organization’s safety culture through a self-assessment.

Be sure to download Leading a Culture of Safety: A Blueprint for Success, a resource that helps leaders break down priorities and focus on fine-tuning a few pillars of change at a time. ACHE and the IHI Lucian Leape Institute collaborated with leaders of progressive healthcare organizations and globally renowned experts in leadership, safety and culture to develop this resource.

ACHE encourages everyone in healthcare to become familiar with or revisit these resources as we recommit to patient safety.
