100 Million Masks Challenge
ACHE stands in full support of the American Hospital Association as it brings the 100 Million Masks Challenge to scale across the country, facilitating new relationships between providers in need of surgical masks and manufacturers with the capacity to produce them. In recognition that shortages are much greater nationwide, the AHA-led initiative will, over time, expand its scope to meet the growing and ongoing challenges.
ACHE members are on the front lines as our nation’s hospitals and health systems contend with an unprecedented public health crisis. In addition to the resources ACHE is providing at ache.org/COVID, we encourage you to visit the American Hospital Association’s updates and resources page, which offers up-to-date information and tools related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
ACHE Celebrates National Doctors’ Day
Today is National Doctors’ Day, and we would like to thank physicians for their tireless work to keep our communities healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
National Doctors' Day is held every year on March 30th in the United States. It is a day to celebrate the contribution of physicians who serve our country by caring for its citizens. The first Doctors’ Day observance was March 30, 1933, in Winder, Ga.
Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Charles B. Almond, MD, decided to set aside a day to honor physicians. This first observance included the mailing of greeting cards and placing flowers on the graves of deceased doctors. In 1990, the federal government declared March 30 as National Doctors’ Day.
Everyone at ACHE is grateful for your perseverance, dedication and the sacrifices you make, today and every day, for the sake of others. We are here to support you however we can. Please take a moment when you can and go to ache.org/COVID for a list of resources that may be helpful during this unprecedented event.
