The Journal of Healthcare Management is the official journal of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Six times per year, JHM offers timely healthcare management articles that inform and guide executives, managers, educators, and researchers. JHM also contains regular columns written by experts and practitioners in the field that discuss management-related topics and industry trends. Each issue presents an interview with a leading executive.

Want to learn more about how to publish your research article in the Journal of Healthcare Management? This presentation, How to Publish in the Journal of Healthcare Management, by the Journal's editor, Kyle Grazier, gives you an inside look into the processes--from submission to review to acceptance to publication.

JHM invites the submission of manuscripts that facilitate communication and discussion of issues among executives, academics, and policymakers. All articles that contain practical information that can advance understanding and have operational utility for the practicing manager are encouraged.

Current topics of particular interest include:

  • Generational differences among older and newer managers--practice, education, competencies, styles, cultural biases, clinical skills and knowledge, and technological abilities
  • Workforce and management diversity
  • Complexity science
  • Use of teams in healthcare management and delivery
  • Trends and issues in critical access hospitals

All submitted manuscripts go through the standard review process.
