Program Spotlight:
Empowering Today’s Diverse Executives Through Specialized Leadership Development
When Kristan M. Murray, FACHE, associate director/COO, VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, completed the 2022 Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Program, she knew wholeheartedly that she could be the change she wants to see because of the program’s teambuilding activities, dinner conversations with other scholars, opportunities for reflection and educational sessions.
Similarly, Sonney Sapra, senior vice president/CIO, information systems, Samaritan Health Services, says the Dolan Executive Diversity Program has given him the opportunity to learn how others in his scholarship cohort are dealing with issues in the healthcare field such as staffing and high costs. Open discussions and collaboration with the other scholars has helped him to approach these challenges differently and to think about how he can apply some of that knowledge to his own organization.
Murray and Sapra are two of the 37 scholars selected for the 2022 Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity and Career Accelerator Programs who completed their work in December. Murray and Sapra shared their experiences and how the program helped with their leadership development in the “Executive News” section of the January/February 2023 issue of Healthcare Executive. ACHE’s Board of Governors Approve 2023–2025 Strategic Plan
ACHE’s Strategic Plan leverages the organization’s role in building a leadership workforce capable of addressing the challenges facing our field now and in the future. The ACHE Board of Governors has approved the 2023–2025 Strategic Plan, with a continued focus on ACHE’s work to advance health by leading for equity and safety; grow our professional community of leaders by leveraging our partnerships with chapters and other organizations; and help leaders reach their highest potential by deepening our engagement with members and the healthcare community.
ACHE annually examines its Strategic Plan with a continuing focus on meeting the evolving needs of our members and healthcare leadership. The plan describes in further detail ACHE’s roles as catalyst, connector and trusted partner. More specifically for the field of healthcare leadership, ACHE will focus on creating a next-level strategy for our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, while our work as a connector will focus on developing new ways to enhance our partnership with chapters. As a trusted partner, we will focus on the adoption of the FACHE® certification as the gold standard for leading, as well as accelerating the use of technology to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing environment.
