Redeem Points Earned for Sharing the Value of ACHE

As the year ends, be sure to redeem points earned through the Leader-to-Leader Rewards Program before they expire Dec. 31. If you referred colleagues to become members last year, you not only helped to build a more diverse and inclusive ACHE community, but you earned points for Leader-to-Leader Rewards.

To earn points, list your name as the referral on a new member application or on an FACHE® application. Once the membership is activated or all Fellow requirements have been met, you will receive points to redeem for rewards such as an ACHE-branded travel mug, a customizable coaster set or a computer briefcase. Points expire Dec. 31 of the year following when respective points were earned.

Please note that Leader-to-Leader points cannot be earned by referring a member suspended in 2019 to rejoin. If you have any questions, please contact the Customer Service Center at (312) 424-9400 or email contact@ache.org.

Explore topics such as population health and patient experience while earning up to 24 ACHE Face-to-Face Education credits at the Beaver Creek Cluster, Jan. 6–9.

During “Health Systems as Stewards of Health: Socially Responsible and Strategic Collaboration,” you will identify the key principles of a relationship-building model to create sustainable and strategic collaborations with partners outside the healthcare system. Mark. J. Bittle, DrPh, FACHE, will lead the seminar.

Attendees of “Leading for Change: Creating a Humanistic Approach for Patient, Family and Staff Engagement” will discover strategies and methods to put the human experience at the center of healthcare delivery, connecting to the patient experience on both personal and humanistic levels. Improving Outcomes Through Innovation

Misdiagnosis results in disability or death and costs the U.S. healthcare system more than $100 billion annually. In the November/December issue of the Journal of Healthcare Management, guest columnists Paul L. Epner, CEO and co-founder, Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine, and Dana Siegal, RN, director of patient safety, CRICO Strategies, outline ways to resolve system failures and improve clinical decision making.

In another column, Raul H. Zambrano, MD, FACHE, addresses how healthcare organizations are developing the next generation of responsive leaders to meet the needs of changing populations.

Original research in this issue includes an article that explores the relationship between Lean processes and financial and patient outcomes, and another about how early adopters of health information technology enjoy improved financial performance when their results are compared with later adopters.

The Journal of Healthcare Management is available online to all ACHE members at ache.org/Journals.
