Program Spotlight:
Strengthen Your Leadership Skills and Earn Education Credits
As organizations increasingly face quick and unpredictable disruptions in healthcare, they need leaders who are highly self-aware about their strengths, blind spots and development paths. The “Virtual Leadership Development Program,” Sept. 27–Nov. 29, will help executives become more self-aware of their leadership presence and positively impact their careers and organizations.
Worth 12 Face-to-Face Education credits, the Virtual Leadership Development Program features assessments to help leaders understand how their personality style and behavior patterns impact their leadership presence. One-on-one coaching—another unique feature of the program—is designed to help executives learn how to articulate their value proposition and develop an actionable plan.

Help Us Pave the Way to a Bolder, Brighter Future for Our Field
Cultivating leaders who care about equity is at the heart of ACHE’s mission to advance healthcare leadership excellence. To meet the increasingly diverse needs of patients and communities and improve health outcomes, it is critical to help build an inclusive pipeline of talented future healthcare leaders.
ACHE is on a bold mission to raise $1 million for the Fund for Healthcare Leadership by March 2025. Scholarships from the Fund help diverse, talented individuals acquire the skills and training they need to forge a career path in healthcare leadership. The Fund supports participation in ACHE’s Career Accelerator Program, the Executive Program and the Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Program, as well as additional educational opportunities presented during the year.
Without donor funding, these programs cannot exist, and the need is greater than ever. Please consider a personal gift to the Fund and/or a major gift from your organization to help us achieve our goal of raising $1 million. With your help, we can create a bolder and brighter future in healthcare. Visit ache.org/Fund to learn more about the $1 Million Campaign for Healthcare Leaders of Tomorrow, and make a donation today.
For more information or to discuss gift and pledge options, contact ACHE’s Timothy R. Tlusty, vice president, Development, at ttlusty@ache.org.

To be an eligible Regent candidate, you must work and live in the Regent area you would represent and be an ACHE Fellow. Please review the position description before applying. The deadline to declare your candidacy is Sept. 15.
Frontiers of Health Services Management: 40 Years of Innovative Thought Leadership
“With this issue, [ACHE] begins the 40th year of Frontiers of Health Services Management, serving since its inception as an invaluable source of information and facilitating the exchange of ideas among healthcare leaders,” writes Carla Jackie Sampson, PhD, FACHE, in her editorial for the fall issue of the journal.
“Through the decades, Frontiers has made a lasting impact on the landscape of healthcare management. With deep dedication and expertise, its editors, editorial review board members, and contributors have all served to maintain the quality and utility of its content,” Sampson continues.
In the new fall issue, Frontiers of Health Services Management marks the start of its 40th year with an article from its inaugural issue on the topic of the growing commercialism of healthcare.
Next, Monica Wharton, JD, FACHE, executive vice president and COO, and Paula Jacobs, former vice president, process improvement and innovation, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, explain why it makes sense to engage the entire workforce in innovation. The proof lies in Methodist Le Bonheur’s successful Power of One Idea platform for active listening and learning.
In another feature, Brent Ibata, PhD, JD, FACHE; Jim Olver, PhD; and Scott Kashman, FACHE, dismiss the assumption that a lot of resources are required to nurture new ideas in healthcare, and provide a toolkit and tips to kick-start innovation at any organization.
Also in this issue: A Q&A with author Karen Tilstra, PhD, who makes the business case for innovation by linking it with mission. “Good innovative practice creates pathways to reimagine patient care,” she points out.
