Program Spotlight:
Addressing Today’s Workforce Challenges
Last week, legislation was signed into law that would authorize grants for programs that offer behavioral health services for front-line healthcare workers. The legislation is named for Lorna Breen, MD, a physician who led the NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital ED. She died by suicide at the beginning of the pandemic.
In recognition of National Doctors Day, March 30, we are highlighting sessions at the upcoming Virtual Leadership Symposium, April 11–12, that focus on physician and clinical relationships and other workforce-related topics:
- Join Carson F. Dye, FACHE, and Raul Zambrano, MD, FACHE, FAAFP, for Developing Physician Leaders the Right Way! to learn how to design physician leadership development activities that make a significant organizational impact.
- Top physician leaders Christine K. Cassel, MD; Sharon C. Kiely, MD, FACP; and Fayola Edwards-Ojeba, MD, will discuss the current surge of clinician burnout and explore strategies for moving beyond preventing burnout to enhance wellness during Leadership Insights: When Wellness Meets Work—Addressing Clinician Burnout Through System-Level Change.
- Examine strategies for overcoming workforce challenges in the modern age with Jake Poore during Resentments, Resignations and Reconnections: Finding Solutions for Today’s Workforce Crisis in Healthcare.
- Join Adam Higman, DHA, FACHE, and Ekta Vyas, PhD, SHRM-SCP, for Leveraging a Virtual Workforce to Improve Engagement and Reduce Burnout. They’ll examine a framework to create a virtual work environment for your organization that results in workforce engagement in an efficient and effective model to fulfill its mission.
- Explore leadership strategies for creating disruption-proof, high-performing teams with Ginny Clarke during the Closing Session: The Future of Work Begins With Conscious Leadership Today.
If you are attending the 2022 Congress on Healthcare Leadership, which kicks off today, you can still register for the Virtual Leadership Symposium with a discount of more than 50% off the regular fee by adding it to your in-person Congress registration by March 31. Or, you can register for it separately visiting ache.org/VLS.
