Now is the time for today's healthcare leaders, like you, to make a commitment to the future by supporting ACHE's Fund for Innovation in Healthcare Leadership.
The Fund for Innovation in Healthcare Leadership, a philanthropic initiative of the Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives, was created to bring innovation to the forefront of healthcare leadership.
Donate to the Fund today to ensure the healthcare profession has the visionary leaders and management systems that are needed to improve healthcare delivery. Together we will:
Inspire and develop future leaders.
Promote diversity among healthcare leaders.
Explore emerging complex ethical issues.
Stimulate innovations in healthcare management.
Educational Programs Offered Through The Fund
Donations to the Fund are also used to establish education programs that promote or build awareness around key areas of focus designated by the Fund. This year ACHE’s Fund for Innovation in Healthcare Leadership presented the following two educational programs to prepare leaders for the changing healthcare environment:
“The Ethics of Mission and Margin”
The ACHE Code of Ethics provides a foundation on which our integrity as leaders and credibility as a profession are built. In today's turbulent economic and political environment, resources are limited and inadequate to meet demands. Classic ethical principles of utility and justice and the often quoted maxim "no margin, no mission" come into sharp focus. Healthcare executives are called upon to make difficult choices surrounding their mission of care and the financial margin they must deliver to serve that mission.
Held on Wednesday, May 23, at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, this half-day seminar, led by Richard A. Culbertson, PhD, will address the universal ethical and political challenge of balancing mission and margin.
This year’s innovation program led by Diane E. Meier, MD, FACP, director, Center to Advance Palliative Care and vice chair for public policy, Lilian and Benjamin Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute, will discuss the opportunities palliative care programs can provide to your department and organization. See how a palliative care program can help address many of the financial, ethical and emotional challenges that occur in the continuum of care. Equip yourself with specific strategies to develop a new palliative care program or set priorities for an existing program. Ensure your organization has adequate staff and resources to fulfill its potential in terms of quality and cost of care.
This half-day session will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta.
