Our strength is in the diversity of our members, who bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, career specialties and more to our professional membership community.

As the professional home to 48,000 healthcare leaders, our membership base represents diverse disciplines, career levels, healthcare settings, race, gender and age - and this is our strength.

With a commitment to education and lifelong learning, 25 percent of our members have earned the esteemed FACHE® credential, the gold standard in healthcare management board certification that signals high competency, commitment and service to our profession.  Additionally, 60 percent of our members have earned a Master’s Degree and another 25 percent hold two Masters or Doctorate degree. And while 52 percent of our members hold degrees in Hospital or Health Services Administration, nearly 23 percent hold business degrees, indicating competency in both organization and business acumen.

To grow and advance in healthcare management requires putting one’s stake in the ground and continuing to run the race towards improving health for patients and their communities, despite an ever-changing environment and the challenges that come with those changes.  ACHE supports members throughout the career lifecycle, from student and early careerists right up the ladder to the C-Suite. Not only are 72 percent of our members mid-career at age 40 and up, but 24 percent of our members have position tenure of 9 or more years.
Additionally, at the heart of ACHE is community, evidenced by the level of volunteerism and personal hours contributed to advancing leadership through mentoring, career advising and educational programs and events delivered through 78 local ACHE chapters. These member networks have sponsored 11,000+ events with over 2.3 million attendee hours logged.
While this dedication to helping leaders develop into the best in their field and a unified member commitment of advancing our profession are accolades of which to be proud, it is our diverse membership and all that they accomplish that separates ACHE from other professional healthcare associations. Our focus will always be on the member, not a specialty or discipline.  When our members excel, healthcare as a whole, excels too.  When they advance, patients and communities benefit alike.
