The Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Program

Application submissions open on June 3, 2013.

The Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Program was established by the Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives to honor Thomas C. Dolan, PhD, FACHE, FASAE, president and CEO of ACHE from 1991-2013, and his long-standing service to the profession of healthcare leadership and to further his strong commitment to achieving greater diversity among senior healthcare leaders. Please see ACHE's Statement on Diversity for more information about our commitment to diversity.

The year-long program will support a cohort of mid- and senior-level careerists who aspire to higher leadership roles and will provide specialized curriculum opportunities addressing barriers in career attainment and developing executive presence. A maximum of six scholars will be selected.

The program includes full tuition for the following sessions:

January 2014

Orientation Meeting—Chicago
Program overview
Assignment of mentors
Leadership and communications assessments

March 24–27, 2014

57th Congress on Healthcare Leadership—Chicago
Full Congress experience
Participation in the Diversity Breakfast

June 2–4, 2014

Senior Executive or Executive Program Session I—Chicago
Full program experience

August 4–6, 2014

Senior Executive or Executive Program Session II—San Diego
Full program experience
Includes a site visit to Scripps Health

October 13–15, 2014

Senior Executive or Executive Program Session III—Orlando
Full program experience
Includes a behind-the scenes look at the operations of Walt Disney World
and a site visit to Celebration Health

December 2014

Customized Educational Event—Chicago
Two-day session
Topical presentations
Wrap up and program evaluation

Executive Diversity Program scholars will learn, share and grow together during intensive sessions throughout the year. In addition, the program features one-on-one interaction with a specially selected mentor and participation in formal leadership and career assessments.
